Adidas is Cannes' Advertiser of Year

Adidas will pick up the Advertiser of the Year accolade at this year's Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival.

The award recognises Adidas' creative and imaginative approach to its global brand communications, which is shared by 180 Amsterdam and TBWA.

The honour also recognises the brand's influence on lifestyle trends around the world. The Adidas president and chief executive, Erich Stamminger, will collect the prize.

The brand has been awarded a total of 35 Cannes Lions across all media over the past decade. Last year, the brand picked up 11 awards, among them one for TBWA\Chiat Day's "magic run" TV spot.

Stamminger said: "We're honoured that the organisers of the Cannes Lions Festival have chosen Adidas. With our partners, TBWA and 180 Amsterdam, we continue to look for ways to push the creative boundary - creating powerful campaigns, which can connect with consumers both emotionally and personally."
