Judges praised Adam & Eve, founded just three years ago, for maintaining creative excellence for existing clients such as John Lewis, while bringing in new business such as the £7m Foster's account.

PHD triumphed in the media category after defending £103m-worth of business in the past year. The agency also secured Kraft Foods' consolidated £50m media planning and buying account, following its takeover of Cadbury.

Dare was named top digital agency for the second year in a row, while Billington Cartmell captured the sales prom-otion title for the third consecutive year.

Elsewhere, sponsorship agency MEC Access and customer publisher Fitzgerald Shurey Tarbuck were first-time winners in their categories.

The Partners scooped Branding Agency of the Year for its 'strong creative work and a sound approach to sustainability', while Frank PR took the PR prize.

The awards, now in their 10th year, incorporated the views of The Marketing Society's brand-side business leader members for the first time.
