Andre Sallowicz and Simon Vicars, senior art director and creative group head at Colenso BBDO respectively, will join Adam & Eve/DDB as creative directors in the coming months.
They will work across the shop’s clients, which include Volkswagen, John Lewis and Lloyds Bank, and report to chief creative officer Richard Brim. The duo is likely to help on the Mars account, after creating ads for the company at Colenso BBDO.
The duo’s "Brewtroleum" campaign for DB Export picked up the Outdoor Grand Prix and a Titanium Lion at last year’s Cannes festival.
In a partnership with biofuel provider Gull, DB Export turned its leftover yeast into biofuel, which drivers could then buy at 60 petrol stations across New Zealand. The fuel was cheaper when customers also bought beer.
Brim said: "Brewtroleum made me sick with envy and I really excited to see what they get up to here."
The Australasian Writers and Art Directors Association named Vicars Creative of the Year in 2014 and 2016. He has been at Colenso BBDO since 2011, and previously worked at DDB.
Vicars said: "Andre and I have spent our careers trying to work for the best creative people. For us it’s the single most important thing. Joining Richard and his team is an exciting continuation of that strategy."
Sallowicz moved to Colenso BBDO in January 2016 to partner Vicars after five years at Almap BBDO in São Paulo. In his native Brazil, he also worked at Grey Group, Y&R and DPZ Propaganda.
He said: "Adam & Eve/DDB are the best in the world. Their work is always strategically brilliant and their finishing is great. For the past four years they’ve made us envious and inspired. We can’t wait to start."
