McKinney spot features friends and family who help students complete unfinished business
Earning a high school diploma is an event worth celebrating, especially for adult students who must overcome the distractions and responsibilities of daily life to finish their degrees. The Ad Council and the Dollar General Literacy Foundation (a nonprofit initiative of the bargain retailer) throw surprise parties for recent grads in TV spots from McKinney. In a 90-second online anthem spot, four students – mostly parents between the ages of 24 and 38 -- talk about getting sidetracked in high school, as well as the people in their lives who motivated them to go back to school.
