
A virtual version of Zenya, the dolphin from the current Acer television advert, is visiting shopping centres across Europe. Shoppers can have a chat with him in his tank using software from Acer's new Windows 8 touch-type products, which translates the sounds made by dolphins.
The tanks are an extension of the Acer advert, fronted by actress Megan Fox, also created by Mother. In it, Fox works with marine biologists to develop software to communicate with dolphins, using the Acer Aspire S7 Ultrabook.
The tank displays a photorealistic dolphin animation running across 12 screens. Zenya shows off to visitors and talks to them through the Acer software.
Acer’s new range of Windows 8 touch-type products, including tablets and notebooks, are displayed at the rear of the installation. Customers can test them out and learn more from experts dressed as scientists.
Kieran Bradshaw, strategist from Mother, said: "We wanted to use Megan Fox's co-star from the Acer S7 TV advert, Zenya the Dolphin, this time to help support the Windows 8 launch and the new Acer touch-type range. Zenya will draw in the crowds at more than 20 different locations across Europe and bring the audience witty dolphin banter and an all-new product range."
The installations will appear at 25 locations in Europe, including Westfield London until 4 December and in Bluewater, the Trafford Centre and the Bullring from 6 until 24 December.
