According to Absolute Radio, its network, which includes Absolute Radio, Absolute 80s, Absolute Classic Rock, and Dabbl, provided a total of 744,000 on-demand hours during April.
The on-demand content included in the figure comprises downloaded podcasts, audio clips, live sessions and videos. Absolute Radio has previously published the number of podcasts downloaded, but not the number of hours that it equates to.
A spokesman for Absolute Radio said it is the first radio station to publish its on-demand hours, which represented a huge growth area.
In total, the network served 7.22 million hours of online content last month, which included live online streamed hours and live mobile streamed hours, as well as on-demand.
A total of 1.81 million Absolute Radio podcasts were downloaded in April – up 37% from the previous record of 1.14 million set in March, and 6.5 million hours of live audio were streamed.
Absolute Radio gathers listening data collected from multiple computers or internet radio devices.
Absolute Radio first started to publish its streamed hours in October 2009.
