The programming department will pick a listener each week to come to the playlist meeting and debate the songs available with station staff and DJs.
The move is part of an attempt to generate excitement around the Absolute Radio brand, which replaces the old Virgin Radio moniker next Monday September 29.
Virgin Radio is being rebranded following its acquisition by Times of India from SMG in June, in a £53m deal.
Times of India decided on the new name, instead of continuing to license the Virgin brand from owner Virgin Enterprises.
Clive Dickens, chief operating officer of station owner Times of India subsidiary TIML Radio, said: "Our listeners are key to building the Absolute brand and knowing what they think about the music we are passionate about has always been one of our major objectives."
The listener chosen each week can be from any walk of life so long as they have a passion for music, and they will have the chance to voice their opinions as well as gaining an insight into why decisions are made at the station.
The idea was thought up by 'Most Wanted' DJ Ben Jones and floated on the , an open blog the station set up as a place to discuss the business's audio and online radio vision.
