Laughter was on the menu on Tuesday night (25 Oct) as Sternberg Clarke presented its comedy showcase at the George Tavern in east London. Event has a picture gallery and a video of the fantastic acts that performed.

About 60 event industry professionals gathered in the intimate, quirky theatre at the top of the 700-year-old tavern ready to be entertained by Sternberg Clarke’s eight acts.

The acts ranged from traditional stand-up comedians, such as Stephen Grant and Greg Burns, to the delightfully harmonious Segue Sisters and the hilarious three-man show Clever Peter.

Jody Kamali became Marco Bugatti for the evening, delivering a cringe-worthy mockery of a teambuilding day. It provided much amusement. While Jim Campbell surprised us all by launching into a comedy – and very fast – rap. Rusty Seven’s take on Bruno Mars’ Millionaire track was laugh out loud funny.

The George Tavern was one of London’s first live entertainment venues and its peeling walls have served as the setting for shoots with Kate Moss, Justin Timberlake and Grace Jones.

Event’s stand out act was musical comedian Jay Forman, who made us giggle uncontrollably with songs about stealing food, the royal wedding and John Lennon’s awful reputation were he alive today. He is currently supporting Dave Gorman on tour.
