Abigail Comber, head of marketing, British Airways

Comber may be second in command at BA, but she’s proved herself a leader.

Reliable and hard-working, she kept the carrier’s marketing department running smoothly while it sought a replacement for former global marketing head Kerris Bright, holding the brand, and staff morale, together.

Now working under Frank van der Post, Comber’s hard graft was rewarded with a promotion earlier this year and she was handed responsibility for the latest phase of the "To fly. To serve" drive. Comber’s championing of BA’s staff and services has helped the brand position itself as a valued airline.
