ABC scoops UK media with leaked nail bomb image exclusive

LONDON - US TV Network ABC scooped the UK media in its coverage of the London terrorist attacks, after receiving leaked photographs of key evidence used in the assaults.

The images were shown for the first time on ABC News in the US last night, including an x-ray of one unexploded nail bomb, which has been subsequently splashed across the UK print media this morning.

The Times, The Guardian, The Sun, The Independent, Daily Mail and Daily Express all covered the shocking nail bomb image on their front pages.

It is not known how ABC got hold of the leaked images, but according to media reports it is speculated it could have been passed on by intelligence agencies in the US.

It is thought the Metroplitan Police or MI5 would have shared its intelligence with US agencies, including the FBI.

According to a report from PA, Congressman Pete Hoekstra, chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee, suggests that if the leak did come from the US it could affect its intelligence agencies' relationship with counterparts in the UK.

The leak came as police arrested one of the bombers Somalian Yasin Hassan Omar and arrested a number of other suspects across the UK.
