Conde Nast Traveller managed a 0.4% gain in the period despite the negative impact on the travel industry of the events of September 11. Publisher Jamie Bill claimed Traveller had been less affected by the fallout of the terrorist attacks because it was not purely a travel directory but had a lifestyle focus. He added: "Our readers probably have a greater understanding of the real travel situation and our many business travellers cannot afford not to travel. Holiday Magazine fell 3.5% in the period.
