Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO has become the first agency to win
±±¾©Èü³µpk10’s coveted Agency of the Year award in successive years.
AMV takes the 1996 prize despite fierce competition from the runner-up,
St Luke’s, and the agency in third place, M&C Saatchi.
TMD Carat capped an outstanding year by landing the inaugural Media
Agency of the Year prize. TMD beat Manning Gottlieb Media to the award
in another close-run race.
Blink is Production Company of the Year, beating the Paul Weiland Film
Company in second place.
Sky Television is our Medium of the Year, a decision that will surprise
some - although it shouldn’t - as Sky is setting the pace in the
television industry. Its major rival for the title was Loaded magazine
which turned in another extraordinary performance. An honourable mention
also went to the Guardian.
Orange is our Advertiser of the Year for demonstrating its commitment to
excellent advertising at a time in which it ran and defended in court a
comparative campaign, floated successfully and witnessed a Christmas
sales boom.
The most controversial winner is the Conservative Party which takes
±±¾©Èü³µpk10 of the Year for its ’demon eyes’ work through M&C Saatchi.
After a heated debate, the Army, Whiskas and Walkers lost out to the
campaign about which more ink was spilt than any other last year.
