Harkness will join 72andSunny as a co-executive creative director and work across all of the agency’s brands, including Adidas, Carlsberg and Samsung. He will sit on the management team alongside Cavallone, Nic Owen, the managing director, and Stephanie Feeney, the director of strategy.

Harkness joins from Wieden & Kennedy, where he has spent the past decade (eight years in London and two years in Portland) as a creative director. He wrote "write the future" and "St Wayne", featuring the England football captain, Wayne Rooney, for Nike.

"72andSunny Amsterdam has done an amazing job assembling a brilliantly diverse bunch of talent and a client list that would turn David Banner green with envy," Harkness said.

"There’s a palpable energy and the Amsterdam office is poised to do groundbreaking work in any market."
