
If granted, the venue, which won the Green Award at last year's Event Awards could see a new complex housing 38 bedrooms added to its offering as early as next year.
The complex will be positioned directly opposite the current conference centre and will incorporate a plethora of eco-features including heat exchanges that ensure energy from hair dryers, steam and even body heat goes un-wasted and a ‘living wall'.
"Our lack of accommodation has driven away certain business or forced people to use local accommodation providers, increasing mileage," said Sheepdrove's director of operations, Russell Downing. "The creation of these bedrooms will allow us to meet the needs of all potential clients, whilst removing one more potentially negative impact on the environment."
