EuroNews went live across the UK and Ireland this week. The pan-European news channel from ITN is now available to more than five million subscribers on the Sky Digital platform.
The 24-hour channel launched in 1993 and now reaches more than 100 milllion homes across Europe. It distinguishes itself from other news services by broadcasting simultaneously in six languages without on-screen reporters or presenters, and has a higher reach than CNN in Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
UK viewers will now be able to choose to view their news in English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese or Spanish and the addition of the service to the Sky Digital platform opens up new opportunities for advertisers.
Olivier de Montchenu, sales and marketing manager of EuroNews, said: "Our launch on UK digital satellite further enhances our proposition to advertisers.
"EuroNews already attracts an up-market audience with a large number of high income earners, decision makers and business travellers."
