Wilson joined 24/7 Real Media in London in December 2004, and saw through a period of dramatic growth of the company's search division. Previously he was with Overture, where he was director of editorial and customer operations for Europe.
As commercial director, Gawor will be responsible for the expansion of 24/7 OnTarget, 24/7 Real Media's global behavioural targeting network for advertisers and publishers, and for continuing to increase the client base for the company's Open AdStream technology.
Gawor is moving from Associated New Media, where his roles included managing the display advertising team. Previously, he had worked for Wanadoo and News International in sales and management positions.
The appointments follow a comprehensive executive recruitment process, according to Christopher Wagner, CEO Europe of 24/7 Real Media.
Wagner said: "We searched for the best people, and we found them. Rob Wilson has consistently displayed the blend of operational and commercial understanding that a rapidly growing, publicly traded company like 24/7 Real Media needs, and we anticipate that in his new position as managing director he will quickly move our UK business to a new level."
24/7 Real Media is headquartered in New York, with offices in eight countries including Paris, London, Munich, Madrid, Stockholm, Toronto and Korea. Its services include web advertising, search marketing and analytics, with clients including McDonald's, USA Today, FoxNews, Yellowpages.com and Playboy.com.
