Green, based in London, now reports to Cameron Saunders, managing director of Fox's UK theatrical division, and takes on his former role.

Green will develop marketing campaigns for all Fox’s UK cinema releases.

In the first half of 2011, this will include animated children's film 'Rio', the latest in the 'X-Men' franchise, with 'X-Men First Class', and 'Water for Elephants', starring Reese Witherspoon and 'Twilight' star Robert Pattinson.

Saunders said: "Chris is a talented marketer with an outstanding track record of continually delivering high-impact integrated marketing campaigns, characterised by flair and originality.

"In his time with the company, he has overseen campaigns from 'The Simpsons Movie', to 'Gulliver's Travels' and 'Avatar', with exceptional results. He brings to this role a wealth of experience and a real understanding of the UK film marketplace and how to stand out within it."

Green began his career at Virgin/UGC Cinemas in Sheffield, before joining Fox as a regional executive, and rising through the ranks.
