One of my biggest mentors is Nick Alexander. Nick took me out of advertising and threw me into the deep end of marketing, and was responsible for teaching me much of what I know today.
After he helped to launch Virgin Atlantic, I worked with him when Virgin bought the European rights to Sega. We launched and steered it to become an award-winning market leader from 1989 to 1994.
He’s had a phenomenal career, moving on to buy Future Publishing; when he sold it four years later, the company had tripled in value.
When I co-founded digital media company 365 Corporation, Nick was my first choice as a non-executive director. I was delighted when he agreed to come on board. To this day, we’ve remained great friends and I continue to trust and rely on his advice on many decisions.
